Training and development events

Londonwide Enterprise Ltd (the training arm of Londonwide LMCs) have been looking back over their work this year. The team have delivered 34 training sessions since January 2015, attracting 995 delegates. 14 of these were LEAD events, 14 of these were part of the GPN and HCA training programme, and the team have supported six Londonwide LMCs events.

Ongoing and upcoming events include:

Engaging Patient Participation Groups

Forming a Patient Participation Group (PPG) can be seen as just a contractual hoop to jump through. This workshop challenges this assumption and explores the benefits of patient engagement and the considerable impact of non-engagement. The workshop explores the benefits of patient engagement and hearing what patients have to say about the services they receive. For more information and to book a place please visit our website.

Reflective Practice Masterclass

The first of a series of four events was well attended and received positive feedback. Further events will run over the coming months. Individuals are helped to identify the organisational and psychological barriers to change and personal development. Participants learn techniques to overcoming some of the challenges facing GPs and gain insight into the necessary changes that need to be made to their practice in order to improve their working lives and their ability to continue to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care. Another recent success was:

Business Health Check

This event was attended by 13 GPs and practice managers. The evaluations reflect that delegates had a positive experience. Some of the valuable skills which they could take back to their practices include: writing mission statements; implementing ideas / changes; improving function as a practice; changing management style; reflecting on core values and vision; and understanding how to get the best out of a team.

The events team are in the process of developing the 2016 programme. Please keep a look out for more programmes and sessions on our Londonwide LMCs events page.
