Introduction to Practice Finance Module

 

Who is it for?

Who are new to general practice or expecting to take on a role in the financial management of the practice.

How does it work?

  • One online module
  • One full day taught day*

*taught days are currently being delivered by Zoom.

Students will have a maximum of 6 months access to the online content. Both the online unit and the taught day must be completed within this time limit to be eligible for the certificate of completion and the 10 CPD hours.

  • Understanding the different income streams coming into general practice
  • Monitoring and maximising practice income
  • Controlling costs and working effectively
  • Calculating staff costs
  • Costing new services
  • Understanding practice accounts and accounting terminology
  • The importance of financial governance and probity

Entry requirements:

  • Suitable for practice managers / finance managers / business managers / operational managers who are new to general practice or expecting to take on a role in the financial management of the practice.
  • GP Partners who are new to partnership or new to a financial role are more than welcome to attend.
  • A practice manager who lacks confidence with finance.
  • Students will need to have access to email.

What does it cost?

The course cost £160 + VAT for the module.
