CQC update on the 2017/18 Data Security and Protection Requirements

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has issued an update on the nine requirements for general practice from the 2017/18 Data Security and Protection Requirements.

The Department of Health has set out the steps they expect all health and care organisations to take in 2017/18 to demonstrate they are implementing the 10 data security standards recommended by Dame Fiona Caldicott, the National Data Guardian. This includes nine requirements for general practices under the headings people, process and technology.

More information on this is included in this update from CQC by Nigel Sparrow, the Senior National GP Advisor and Responsible Officer.
