CEO Announcement – 16 March

As of Wednesday 18 March we will be gearing all our efforts to supporting you and our GP and practice team colleagues on the frontline.

To that effect we will be ceasing normal operations and moving to our Covid-19 Plan which involves a switch of our staff to home-working in accordance to government recommendations.

Frontline colleagues need to know that we are their most trusted and reliable source of information and advice, and that we are there for them. We will also be pushing to have non-essential activity suspended and the income streams from such activity maintained, so practices can focus on the fight against Covid-19.

Colleagues on LMCs will rightly be prioritising their care to patients.

It is essential that frontline colleagues can pass concerns up the line and receive clear and timely advice.

Effective communications will therefore be key to us being able to represent and support colleagues in these coming critical days and weeks when not only are patients likely to contract Covid-19 but so are each of us.

From 18 March the following will come into effect until further notice:

  • All physical LMC and SLN meetings will be suspended.
  • LMCs will remain functional primarily for Covid-19 -related issues via their Listservers, and where locally needed, meeting virtually.
  • SLNs will remain functional via their list servers, and meeting monthly by Zoom.
Thank you for your attention.

Stay tuned, and stay safe.

Dr Michelle Drage MBBS FRCGP
CEO, Londonwide LMCs
