Media and public affairs round-up

Londonwide LMCs' CEO, Dr Michelle Drage was quoted in a GPonline report on how hospitals at full bed capacity are passing work onto GPs. Dr Anouska Hari (Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster LMC) and Dr Jeeves Wijesuriya (City and Hackney LMC) were recognised by Pulse magazine as 'local heroes' for their work in two of the most difficult events to hit London this year, the Grenfell Tower fire and the Westminster attack. Dr Jackie Applebee gathered signatures from Tower Hamlet’s primary care workers for a letter to Jeremy Hunt and Simon Stevens, covered by Pulse and GPonline. We still have a place free for a day-long media training session on 17 January, if you are an LMC member and would be interested in attending please email comms@lmc.org.uk.

We continue to be very active in promoting the interests of London GPs and practice staff on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. We also support practices that are approached with media requests. You can find details of how to get support here.
