Appeal: support the homeless this winter
Londonwide LMCs’ communications team recently met with Dr Paul O’Reilly and Practice Manager Tanya O’Brien of the Doctor Hickey Surgery in Westminster. Both spoke powerfully about the vulnerable groups of rough sleepers across Westminster that their practice treat, and outlined the huge difference that primary care makes to their patients’ quality of life and life expectancy. Their rough sleeping patients are in desperate need of many things we all take for granted – such as clean pants, and warm socks.
Londonwide LMC’s CEO Dr Michelle Drage will be accompanying him on an outreach session in December to see his work first hand.
If you would like to help rough sleepers in London this winter, the communications team will accept donations of clean, unused, socks or pants (male and female, any size/ shape/ colour) here at the Londonwide LMCs offices in Tavistock Square until close of business on Friday 11 December.
Donations will be delivered to the Doctor Hickey Practice on Monday 14 December for distribution.
You can read about Dr O’Reilly’s work and his practice in our December newsletter’s Speaker’s Corner. If you or your practice would like to write about your work, please contact the Londonwide LMCs communications team at comms@lmc.org.uk.
