Hold the date: our annual Practice Manager Conference will take place on Thursday 22 November 2018 at Woburn House Conference Centre.
The following events are now available for online booking.
Mental Health First Aid: 23 and 30 May (delegates must attend both days)
The course includes an in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing; the practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues; confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress, and the knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support. A free copy of the MHFA manual is included in the delegate fee.
Increase your effectiveness: 13 June 2018
A full day seminar (6 hours) that:
- Explores the key evidence – using presentation and facilitated group discussion
- Uses a skills framework for improving consultations
- Engages learners in practical exercises to improve their skills
- Practices the identification and labelling of specific skills
- Rehearses the “best buy” skills that increase effectiveness and reduce medico-legal and clinical risk

Safeguarding Children (level 3): 18 July 2018
For all clinical staff working with children, young people and/or their parents/carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating the needs of a child or young person and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding/child protection concerns.
This training course will help delegates gain the skills to act appropriately and confidently to protect the children they provide services to in a designated child safeguarding role. Delegates will learn how to recognise, report and record concerns about a child at risk.
