Media and public affairs round-up

image

On 23 March Dr Lisa Harrod-Rothwell, our Deputy CEO, responded to the Spring Statement saying that 'the absence of anything new for general practice is an insult to an already demoralised workforce'. On 23 March we showed our appreciation to people in general practice on the national day of reflection, marking two years since the first lockdown began. On 21 March Lisa appeared in a BBC London news report on violence and abuse experienced by healthcare workers. On 9 March we contributed information to GPonline on the GP premises crisis forcing practices to 'juggle desks' to fit ARRS staff. On 9 March Dr Michelle Drage, our CEO, was quoted by Pulse in a piece on GP leaders fearing the erosion of continuity of care and the ‘dying’ family doctor role.

We continue to be very active in promoting the interests of London GPs and practice staff on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. If you have an example of general practice doing something well which could make a news story please get in touch. We also support practices that are approached with media requests. You can find details here.
