Digital Roundtable event and practice nurse Action Learning Set

On 3 July we hosted a Digital Roundtable for IT leads and practice managers. Speakers included representatives from the Primary Care Digital Transformation team at NHS England and our own Dr Elliott Singer, who gave a well-received presentation on ‘Is general practice digital ready?’. The talks were followed by a lively Q&A session. The event was over-subscribed, so we are looking to run further digital events in the future to give more people an opportunity to improve their understanding of this growing area of practice.

Separately to our own event, we have also hosted two NHS practice nurse Action Learning Sets (ALS) in April and June. The sessions covered several topics, including using video consultation with patients and using animations on social media to describe a protocol.

Each participant received a tablet to assist with digital engagement with patients and a digital handbook for reference, among other resources. The overall aim of the Practice Nurse ALS is to expand the options available to patients for online healthcare access.
