Practice managers conference and events
Speakers have been confirmed for the Practice Manager Conference to be held at Woburn House on Thursday 22 September 2016. ‘Leadership through Change: making the most of your staff’ will offer a combination of seminars and practical workshops with the aim of providing delegates with the tools to deal with the changing environment of general practice. Marion MacLeod MBE, former Practice Manager Network National Co-ordinator for Scotland will address the issue of change and how to get others on board.
- Delegates will acquire the skills to:
- manage requests for un-resourced work;
- identify and communicate, to patients, activities that are not covered by the core contract;
- perform a capability review;
- challenge staff behaviour;
- identify the difficulties and benefits of recruiting specialised staff;
- find inspiration in their daily routine to be able to experience joy and meaning in general practice;
- be inspired to be the best leaders in challenging circumstances.
Online booking is available for this event.
The PHP sessions led by Dr Clare Gerada are available to all GPs who feel they would benefit from the in-depth reflective work. Delegates can attend on one or both dates. Places are limited to a maximum of 24 delegates at each session.
The LEAD Calendar of Events 2016/2017 is now available here.
Buying group anniversary
It’s been six years since Londonwide LMCs joined the LMC Buying Groups Federation in order to offer money saving opportunities to practices. The group now offers access to more than 20 suppliers who provide significant savings on a range of products and services.
We know a lot of practices are already using Buying Group suppliers for insurance and confidential information shredding, but the services offered extend far beyond this.
And for those practices who have never used the Buying Group, you could be missing out on saving thousands of pounds a year. The Buying Group website is the only place to view the prices and discounts in detail and you can create your own login here.
A full list of our suppliers are and their contact details can be viewed here.
