Practice managers - is your appraisal useful? Do you feel valued?

Practice managers have been recognised in the General Practice Forward View and NHS England have funded a new project to train practice managers to be appraisers.

Londonwide LMCs is pleased to announce that seven practice managers have now received this training and we are looking for a number of practice managers who would like their appraisals to be completed by our newly trained practice managers.

An appraisal should not be a performance review but an opportunity for reflection on the manager’s work and approach, and to help identify areas for improvement and development.

Currently, many practice managers have their appraisal led by a GP in their practice who may not have a full grasp of what the role of a practice manager entails. A peer appraisal from one practice manager to another is enormously beneficial.

If you would be interested in taking up this fantastic opportunity for a peer to peer appraisal, please contact me at sarah.beech@lmc.org.uk.
