Frequently asked questions

How do I gain access to the Londonwide LMCs Buying Group?

As we are offering a refreshed service for 2018, we do need practices to register for the service. Forthcoming GDPR changes impact on services such as buying groups. Registration is important so that we have your consent to connect you with our carefully chosen partners and secure the best prices.

Which companies are supporting the Londonwide LMCs Buying Group?

We’re working with MidMeds who offer a broad range of practice supplies and MIAB who are a specialist insurer offering practice insurance products. Both companies have had a long-standing relationship with Londonwide LMCs and will be known to practices for quality, customer service and value. We’re delighted to be working directly with them to bring you a buying group service that we are managing directly.

What services does the group cover?

MidMeds are providing the following services:

  • Medical consumables and equipment
  • Single-use instruments
  • Pharmaceuticals and Vaccines
  • Office supplies including stationery, toners and paper
  • Office furniture and equipment
  • Test and calibration
  • Compliance services including Legionella Risk Assessment, Fire Risk Assessment, Health and Safety Assessment and Disability Audit
  • Workwear

MIAB are here to help with Locum and Surgery Insurance, protecting your liabilities through Medical Malpractice and Indemnity Insurance or protecting your family and lifestyle with Income Protection, Life, Home and Travel Insurance.

Why these services?

We have chosen partners and product ranges which we know are popular with our member practices in London.

Are there any new services within the group?

MidMeds is offering an extended range of practice services meaning that you can source more of the things you need in one please. MIAB have extended their offer to include practice staff, offering access great rates for income protection, life, home and travel insurance.

What if there is something that I need that isn’t included in the Londonwide LMCs Buying Group?

We’d love to hear your feedback, if there are areas of clear demand or need we will try to add services or products to the Buying Group offer. Please drop us a line.

Does it cost me anything to be a member of the buying group?

Membership of the group is free for practices and the impact of bulk purchasing will secure better rates for practices than they would achieve by negotiating purchases alone.

Can the new service help my practice  to see how it  can save money?

We believe so! Through the Londonwide LMCs Buying Group, MidMeds can run a diagnostic to show how purchasing with the refreshed service can make savings across a range of products and services. MIAB can work with you to assess your insurance needs to achieve the right cover at competitive rates. For more advice on how the new service can benefit your practice please register here or email Ann Ayamah at ann.ayamah@lmc.org.uk.
