Two-year anniversary of GP State of Emergency

In April 2016 GPs in London and across the country declared a GP State of Emergency. Our campaign to raise awareness of the pressure facing practices on a daily basis has proved very popular with over 20,000 visits to the GPSOE website since April 2016.

Dementia Friendly London

The Mayor recently launched his 'Dementia Friendly London' initiative. We fully support this work to make London a better place for people with dementia. Recently we ran our first Dementia Friends training for staff at the Londonwide LMCs' offices.

App-based mindfulness course made available free to Londoners

Londoners can now access a free online mindfulness tool via the Good Thinking website. The website signposts individuals to independently assessed and validated resources to help deal with depression, anxiety, stress and insomnia.

New Parliamentary publication on integrated care

On Monday 11 June the Parliamentary Health and Social Care Select Committee published its report into Integrated Care Organisations, Partnerships and Systems.

Media and public affairs round-up

On Monday 18 June Dr Michelle Drage, Chief Executive of Londonwide LMCs, appeared on Sky News to discuss the NHS funding announcement. Michelle’s comment can be read here. On 13 June Michelle was quoted in a Pulse story on CCGs in North West London having to bail-out Hammersmith and Fulham CCG. On 6 June Pulse covered our new Beam to LMC app.

We continue to be very active in promoting the interests of London GPs and practice staff on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. We also support practices that are approached with media requests. You can find details of how to get support here.
