Patient Access service update - proxy access now available

Patient Access have recently updated their service to allow proxy access.

Proxy access is designed for those who need to use the service on behalf of someone else; this may include families with young children, those who care for a family member or friend who find using the internet difficult, and professional carers. Proxy access allows designated users to book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, and, where appropriate, view and share medical records. More information on how this works and what it looks like in Patient Access can be viewed here.

An email was sent out recently to patients registered for Patient Access outlining this new development and advising them that if they require proxy access, they will need to contact their GP practice to request it.  If you have any queries or require assistance in enabling this service for your patients, please contact support@patientaccess.com.

For further guidance, the RCGP have produced a Patient Online toolkit which covers both proxy access and access for children and young people.
