Meeting London MPs

This month representatives from Harrow LMC, Camden LMC, Londonwide LMCs staff and local GPs met with Parliamentarians including Bob Blackman MP, Sir Keir Starmer MP and Labour’s health spokesman Jonathan Ashworth MP. Each meeting discussed local matters, as well as national issues such as the Coronavirus response and plans to legislate for Integrated Care Systems (ICS). We also discussed the NHS England consultation on ICS - you can view our response to it here

If you are contacted by an MP or wish to raise an issue with one, the Londonwide LMCs team can provide advice on this.

We are also aware that in recent days there has been some public discussion around the fact that London has vaccinated a smaller proportion of its population than other English regions. We have consistently made the point that London general practice has administered the vaccine stock made available to it, whilst working incredibly hard to bring in some of the most vulnerable patient cohorts and avoid wastage. We are working with other partners in the London healthcare system to refute and correct inaccurate statements that GPs in the Capital stood-up their vaccination centres slower than other regions.
