The Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) training programme
 
 
 
The aim of this programme is to provide introductory level learning to those who are new to the role. The course is professionally accredited with the RCGP and includes the Care Certificate Standards developed by Skills for Care, Skills for Health and Health Education England.

The course is written and taught by experienced practice nurses and healthcare support workers.

A Certificate of Completion from Londonwide LMCs and the Care Certificate Standards is issued once the course is successfully completed.
 
 
Who is it for?

Health Care Support Workers who wish to achieve their Care Certificate Standards.

 
How does it work?

The programme is made up of various components including:
  • Ten online units.
  • Two face-to-face taught days.
  • One practice-based competency document which contain the Care Certificate Standards.
Students must complete all components in order to successfully complete the course and be awarded their certificates.

How much does it cost?

£650 plus VAT per student (which can be paid online or by requesting an invoice) for the four month course.

 
 
Requirements
  • Be employed or have placement time within a practice with an appropriate contract/agreement.
  • Be supported within the practice by being given time to attend both taught days.
  • Be supported within the practice by being assigned an experienced practice nurse who can sign off the competency document.
  • Have a good standard of written English.

This is a four month blended learning programme, that consists of two taught days:
  • Taught day 1: Monday 3 February 2020
  • Taught day 2: June 2020 (exact date to be confirmed)
The taught days course will be taking place at Londonwide LMCs' offices Entrance D Tavistock House, Tavistock Square, London WC1H 9LG.
