Accessibility requirements for your website – deadline 23 September 2020

All practices have a legal duty to make sure their websites meet accessibility requirements by 23 September 2020. The accessibility regulations aim to ensure online public services are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.

According to government guidance there are four main steps that you need to take now to ensure your practice’s online presence meets the requirements by 23 September 2020:

  1. Understand how the regulations will impact the practice.
  2. Decide how to check the practice website for accessibility problems.
  3. Make a plan to fix any accessibility problems that are found.
  4. Publish an accessibility statement.

Further information and guidance can be found on the Government website.
