We are pleased to announce the launch of our latest blended learning module for practice nurses, "End of life care training for nurses in general practice". This module is suitable for all nurses working in primary care who have / would like to have an interest or specialism in end of life care.

What does this module contain?

This module is taught using a blended learning approach and contains one online module composed of four units and one compulsory taught day (which accompanies unit 3). Due to Covid-19, we are currently delivering taught days via the Zoom platform. Both the online module and the taught day are compulsory in order to successfully complete the course.

The four units are:

  • Introduction and overview of end of life care.
  • Recognition of end of life in advanced diseases.
  • Communication skills and shard communication systems.
  • Advance care planning and supporting choice care in last days and hours and care after death.

Zoom taught days are interactive with lots of discussion and opportunities to ask questions.

This module is written and delivered by field expert Isabel Quinn and is professionally accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners.

Students will have four months (16 weeks) to complete the module but will be granted access to the online units for a maximum of six months.
