QOF suspension and Covid-19 vaccination changes

Earlier this month the BMA and NHS England agreed temporary contractual changes intended to release general practice workforce capacity to assist in the Covid-19 vaccination programme, among other guidance changes.

Media and public affairs round-up

On 2 December we briefed the HSJ and The Guardian on how GPs are going to handle the Omicron variant and the capacity available in general practice. On 2 December we also briefed The Observer on vaccine hesitancy and capacity.

On 16 December Dr Michelle Drage, our CEO was quoted in the Independent on the reprioritising of GP services in response to the growth of the Omicron variant.

And on 26 November Michelle was quoted in GPOnline's coverage of the LMC Conference debate on negotiating a new core contractand Dr Lisa Harrod-Rothwell, our Deputy CEO was quoted in Pulse’s coverage of the same debate.

We continue to be very active in promoting the interests of London GPs and practice staff on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. If you have an example of general practice doing something well which could make a news story please get in touch. We also support practices that are approached with media requests.
