Coronavirus supplies and 2020 flu vaccination season

Having checked with Londonwide LMCs Buying Group suppliers we understand that flu vaccine stock is on track for delivery later this year and that suppliers are currently content that existing orders can be fulfilled, subject to any future (speculative) DHSC policy announcements. We will continue to talk to suppliers, but do let them know if you have any concerns.

The Londonwide LMCs’ Buying Group offers discounted rates on flu vaccines via our partners MidMeds. Member practices should call Mylan (0800 358 7468) who have agreed on the same deal as last year (50% discount), or Seqirus (08457 451 500), who have asked practices to call them for the best price based on volume, and mention the Londonwide LMCs’ Buying Group when they discuss discounts.

Whilst there are low levels of stock with some suppliers of coronavirus related stock, many have no stock of the most needed items and are awaiting deliveries. The Londonwide LMCs’ Buying Group works closely with our trusted supplier MidMeds for many practice consumables including PPE. They have availability of a number of key items such as hand sanitiser, face masks (Type IIR, FFP2, FFP3), face shields/visors, pulse oximeters and non-contact thermometers.

MidMeds advise us that stock for high demand items is moving quickly, so it is best to place orders in anticipation of delivery as to ensure that you have sufficient PPE protection for your staff. Delaying an order may mean that supplies are pre-ordered by other practices.

MidMeds can be contacted on 0207 471 2626 or via this link.
