Appeal: support the homeless this winter

Londonwide LMCs are working with Westminster LMC member Dr Paul O’Reilly to highlight the work of the Doctor Hickey Surgery in Westminster. The practice specialises in treating the homeless and there are some simple things we can do to help rough sleepers get through winter on the Capital’s streets.

Bureaucracy busting

Recent Government announcements concerning changes to re-booking missed hospital appointments and single payments to GP practices are designed to cut bureaucracy. Our own resilience resources include posters, template letters and guides.

Porcine products in flu vaccine

 |
The nasal flu vaccination, Fluenz, used in the children’s flu vaccination programme contains porcine gelatine. This may not be acceptable to certain faith groups. Stocks of this brand of vaccine are also running out and will be replaced by FluMist, which is pharmaceutically identical.

Provider development event round-up

Londonwide LMCs, in collaboration with Healthy London Partnership co-hosted an event on 4 November at the Kia Oval attended by over 100 representatives from emerging GP Provider Groups, CCGs and education providers.
