PCN Model Schedules update

We will shortly be issuing an updated version of our PCN Model Schedules to reflect new information which has become available, and respond to queries from practices.

The updates include substantive changes to the sections covering voting, dispute resolution and appointment and election of the Clinical Director (all covered in Schedule 2). There have also been small tweaks to the wording throughout the documents with further advice pending on VAT, sub-contracting and a handful of other areas. These Model Schedules are intended to help PCNs develop tailored Schedules, but it is up to each PCN to take appropriate legal and other relevant specialist advice to ensure the schedules are fit for individual needs

You can download the updated schedules and read further information on our dedicated GP Contract web page.

As the voice of general practice in the Capital, Londonwide LMCs has worked with practices, PCNs, LMCs and CCGs to resolve local issues regarding coverage and PCN formation. Where PCN submissions cannot be agreed, there is an escalation process involving NHS England and GPC England. Further details can be seen in the most recent MWord.

Whilst we anticipate escalation occurring in only a handful of areas, it is critical that these escalations are completed effectively, in light of the guidance which states that any delay in the approval of an entire areas PCNs, and the commencement of the Network DES, will affect the start date of all payments.
