Extended hours DES and cyber attack
Following the cyber-attack on NHS computer systems in May a number of practices nationally were told by commissioners that they needed to make up the opening hours lost during the second quarter of the year in order to remain within the terms of the Extended Hours DES. NHS England have since clarified that this is not the case, which practices may wish to note in case of any future instances where they are forced to close due to circumstances outside of their control.
